Rolled hemming on an Overlocker provides both an interesting finish and secure hemming of finer materials. Changing between 4 Thread Overlocking and a 3 thread rolled hem used to always be a headache with the alternating needle plates. Now Rolled Hemming is even easier with the retractable chaining arm built into the machine itself! Just disable the arm and your left needle and with a slight tension adjustment you’ll be sewing rolled hems everywhere – even try decorative threads for a flashy finish!
If you find your sewing doesn’t sit quite flat, or curves out along the edge – you fabric is stretching out under the foot! Differential feed allows you to control the amount of fabric being fed through and achieve level results. You can also manipulate fabric to create flutes or gathered edges, by increasing or decreased the differential feed dial.Â

This is my first overlocker (and haven’t used one since high school), so I am basically a beginner. This overlocker has been great so far on my projects. It came fully threaded which was a big win for me and I was able to take it out of the box and start playing right away. Re-threading wasn’t exactly ‘easy’, but it was not difficult either and after looking at the instruction manual for a couple of minutes, I was able to figure it out. All in all, a solid machine.
