While these two machines appear similar, the subtle yet significant improvements to the Janome 5300QDC’s ease of use (including the Quick-Set Needle Plate, improved Needle Threader, and Magnifier) makes it slightly easier if you have a quick or delicate project. Furthermore, with the inclusion of the Knee Lifter (which is typically seen in the higher end quilting machines), the 5300QDC enables you to use your knee to control the presser foot so that you can keep both hands on your work.
