¼ inch Seam Foot
The quintessential quilting foot, the ¼ seam foot is used by patchworkers when piecing patches and sections. With the ability to judge a quarter inch seam using the black guide bar as well as the foot’s edge, quilter’s can ensure uniformity in their projects, and is perfect for when the guideline markings on the needle plate cannot be seen/used, such as, when completing a flat-felled seam. The markings on the left side of the foot denote the needle drop position, a ¼ inch in front of the needle and a ¼ inch behind the needle. For the perfect ¼ inch corners, use your needle plate markings in conjunction with the foot markings. Require a scant ¼ inch seam? This foot’s semi-circle cutaway allows you to move the needle position to the right, for all scant work (as shown above, in the left bottom image).
