Built-in Two Thread Converter
Chainstitching is easy with the Janome 1200D and Elna 845. Normally, when you set up an overlocker for this two thread stitch, you will need an additional attachment (called a spreader), however, this small, easily misplaced piece, these models, come with it inbuilt. This means that all you have to do is flick down the converter remove the unused needles and thread and you are set!

It may surprise many to learn that since the mid 1990s, Janome produced a large portion of the Elna Sewing Machine and Overlocker range, with the production expanding to the entire range by Janome’s 2004 acquisition of Elna). Nowadays, every Elna produced has a Janome equivalent model (with the primary differences generally being the colour and logo).

As the Janome 1200D and ELna 845 are rebadged versions of each other, it is easy to say that the major difference between them is the colour, however there is one more… the price. Elna have been running a promotion on the Elna 845, which has significantly cheaper than its Janome counterpart.
