Overcast Foot (Janome M Foot)
The Janome Overcast Foot allows you to line up the edge of the fabric so that you can use an overcasting (overlocking) stitch to allow the thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric to prevent unravelling. Sometimes referred to as the M Foot, this Overcast Foot guides the fabric and keeps your edges flat by compensating for the lack of friction when the needle makes the right-most stitch; and is particularly good for finishing off medium to heavy-weight, easily frayed woven fabrics such as tweed, gabardine, and linen.
Additionally, the Janome Binder Foot can be used to create strapping. Simply feed the bias binding into the foot and without any additional material, this foot will allow you to create simple and effective straps for any project.
