Speed and Strength

If you like the option to go fast when you are sewing, then you are going to love the Continental M17’s top speed of 1300 Stitches per Minute! The level speed allows you to fly through garments, quilts, and drapery in a blink of an eye. 

As any sewist can testify, speed is nothing without power, and the M17 has plenty of that! At the heart of this machine is Janome’s newest motor design, the 12 core brushless DC motor. This revolutionary design can perform 350% more than their traditional DC motors and can drive through many layers of leather as if it was cotton.

Control

Featuring two screens, you can easily access any of the stitches, functions, and setting with ease. However, as this is the largest sewing machine that Janome has ever produced (with 13.5″ from the needle to the harp), they have added extra features so that you do not have to move to manoeuvre the M17. These include: 

  • Stitch options available on both screens (with additional manual control dials)
  • Bi-Directional Apps, and
  • A Thumb Wheel to position your needle

Options

With 850 Sewing Stitches (many of which are 9mm) and the ability to add many more, the Continental M17 spoils the sewist.  Best of all, you can taper and combine many of these stitches to produce truly unique patterns.

High Definition Quilting

As a quilting machine, the Janome Continental M17 has no equal. Janome has taken the original features from their Continental M7 and then added so much more!

Acu-Stitch Regulator (ASR)

Janome have incorporated a Stitch Regulator into their famous Acufeed system, so that not only do you get perfect feeding when you are quilting, you now get even stitches! While Stitch Regulators have been available in the sewing market for some time, there have never been one this good. Unlike the competition, the Janome AcuStitch Regulator uses a sensor that hovers just above the material, giving it a clear angle on both the fabric and the movement. This means that you can slow down, speed up, turn, or pivot and have even perfect stitches.

But that’s not all! The ASR also works with Ruler Work Feet (another industry first), meaning that you can use any template and achieve professional results. Not to mention, the ASR also have a full complement of feet and attachments for almost every type of sewing available.  

Quilting Application Pages

Set your quilt up for success with the inbuilt Quilting Application Pages. With a touch of the screen, you can set your machine quickly for the type of material and stitching that you are doing. Whether you are stitching on Damask, Cotton, Silk or more, the machine will be able to set the tensions, lengths and widths so that you can spend more time stitching (and have fun doing so).

If you love working on large embroidery designs, then you are going to love the 11″ x 18.1″ (27.9cm x 46cm) Embroidery Hoop. This Carbon Fiber hoop with support rollers can fit an entire shirt back in one hoop! 

Next Generation Gantry Embroidery Arm

Using a double drive motor and 23 sets of bearings Janome’s next-gen Gantry Embroidery Arm offers an unmatched stitching precision. Using the same technology that Janome employ in their robotics, the new Gantry Embroidery Arm is capable of fine movements, meaning that you can get more stitches per hoop than ever before.

Fastest Stitching

With the Continental M17’s massive embroidery area and fine precision, you could spend all day embroidering, however, you won’t need to, as the M17 is the fastest Embroidery Machine on the Market, stitching at 1200 Stitches Per Minute. 

So Many Apps!

In another industry first, Janome has created 5 Bi-Directional Apps for your Tablet (both iPad and Android). The term Bi-Directional means that you can use your Tablet to find a design (or stitch) that you want to use, then you can edit and position it for hooping, and have it appear on your machine in real-time.
